With aims to deliver five pilot projects across the county by 2030
Kildare County Council has published its first Allotment and Community Garden Strategy, aiming to deliver five pilot projects across the county by 2030, starting with a community garden in Maynooth’s Harbour Field.
The initiative, driven by strong public demand, will provide opportunities for food growing, strengthen social networks, and promote sustainable practices.
The strategy outlines an action plan for site development, management options, and best practices for future projects.
With just one allotment currently in Leixlip, this plan represents a significant step towards meeting the county's growing interest in allotments and community gardens.
