Ten Gardaí in the Eastern Region, which includes Kildare, have already been suspended in 2025, the figures reveal.
New Department of Justice figures reveal 86 complaints were lodged against Gardaí in the Kildare Division in 2024, a drop from 125 in 2023.
Complaints had peaked at 120 in 2021, compared with 107 in 2020 and 83 in 2022.
Ten Gardaí in the Eastern Region, which includes Kildare, have already been suspended in 2025, the figures reveal.
This marks a sharp rise compared with just two suspensions recorded for all of 2024 and continues a fluctuating trend in recent years - 11 suspensions were recorded in 2020, 7 in 2021, 10 in 2022, and 6 in 2023.
