Gardai are urging the public to be vigilant.
Kildare Gardai say there has been a "marked" increase in the number of fraudulent calls.
They are continuing to advise people "not to engage and to report to their local station if they have been the victim of an attack."
Gardai in the county say older people are "especially vulnerable", and they are asking loved ones to check on their neighbours and advise and reassure them in case they get any of these calls .
