The average household usage on highspeed fibre has risen by 61% in five years
Kildare has the highest growth in digital connectivity and data usage in the country, according to a new report conducted by Eir.
The Digital Ireland Report 2026 found that homes in Kildare used an average of 7,800 GB in 2024, compared with 7,300 GB in 2023 and 6,700 GB in 2022.
The lowest was in county Sligo, where the average fibre household consumed 5,800 GB.
The average household usage on highspeed fibre has risen by 61% in five years.
The company said that data traffic volumes will continue to grow at a high rate for the remainder of the decade.
