In the past 18 months, 23 people have been arrested.
A man in his 40s is being questioned after Gardaí seized more than 8 million euro worth of drugs as part of a large scale operation targeting organised crime.
Over the past 2 days, 16 properties were searched in Dublin, Meath, Westmeath, Laois and Offaly.
Gardaí seized in excess of 110 kilos of suspected cocaine and 1.5 kilos of suspected heroin, with an estimated street value of 8.2 million euro.
The man is currently being held at a Garda station in the Dublin region in connection with the investigation.
The seizure is the latest in a number of operations targeting a major organised crime group known as 'The Family'.
In the past 18 months, 23 people have been arrested.
Last year, gardaí also searched 38 homes and 3 businesses across Kildare and Dublin where they seized cash, cars, motorbikes and drugs.
