Met Éireann says stations in counties Mayo, Galway, Roscommon, Kerry, Dublin, Clare, Meath, Tipperary and Cavan saw new highs.

Sixteen areas have seen their April temperature records broken today, with Kildare neighbour Meath setting a new record.

Forecaster Rebecca Cantwell, says the warmest weather has been seen mostly in the West.
