A Kildare nursing home has revealed plans for a large-scale expansion.
Curragh Lawn Nursing Home currently caters for up to 37 people.
It is now seeking planning permission to increase its capacity by just over 50%.
The nursing home has lodged an application for a two storey extension, providing 20 new bedrooms.
Kildare planners are due to issue their decision on August 2nd.

"a two storey extension to the South East providing 20 new bedrooms with en-suites to ground and lower ground floor. Proposed Sluice rooms, cleaning stores, storage rooms, Boiler/plant rooms. Two number staircases with one passenger lift serving both ground and lower ground floors. Proposed communal residence area inclusive of support area tea station and accessible toilets to the existing internal lower ground floor area. Demolition and alterations of an existing single storey storage shed to the south elevation along with existing single storey residence dining area located on the east elevation. Minor internal alterations to existing ground floor internal rooms to accommodate proposed extension. Proposed new single storey building to include laundry room, bin store and oil tank and bund. External gas tank enclosure with weld mesh fencing surround and proposed new solar panels mounted above the single storey building to the south west of the site. Provision of 4 new en-suite bathrooms to existing ground floor bedrooms rooms located on the north and west elevations. Proposed alterations to existing external carparking area hardstanding to include 2 number disabled carparking spaces 2 number electrical vehicle carparking space inclusive of charging points and 26 carparking spaces inclusive of vehicular set down point.20 number bicycle spaces with cover located on the south west inclusive of all associated landscaping and site works.
