The Rose of Tralee Festival gets underway in Kerry this week and Jessica hopes to bring the Rose title back to Kildare for the first time since Maria Walsh's victory in 2014.
Kildare Town native Jessica Hunter is preparing to represent the county at this year's Rose of Tralee International Festival, where she's considered one of the leading contenders for the title.
The 28-year-old from Kildare Town has already impressed and says the experience has given her the chance to meet people from across Ireland while proudly representing her home county.
Jessica, who previously worked as cabin crew with Aer Lingus and Emirates, told Kildare Today that being selected as the Kildare Rose has been a full-circle moment after also serving as Kildare Derby Festival Queen in the past.
She also spoke about her passion for volunteering with Barretstown, where she helps bring "a little bit of magic" to children living with serious illness, saying the experience has become an important part of her life.
