The party abstained last year - but previously had always opposed the legislation on the Special Criminal Court.
South county Sinn Féin Deputy, Patricia Ryan, says she is on record as abstaining from the ballot.
Furthermore, she says, there were 8 party TDs in the chamber at the time.
