A new Tusla report shows the Kildare area has the highest number of child welfare and protection cases awaiting social worker allocation.
The Child and Family Agency’s latest monthly report shows there were 700 cases awaiting allocation, in the Kildare/Dublin South West/ West Wicklow area in May.
A total of 7,607 referrals were received across the country, the highest level in more than 18 months,
It shows an increase of 24% from April and 33% increase from May 2021.
