The woman says her teeth are now chipping and she is no longer able to do basic things due to the illness.
Long Covid can leave people struggling with debilitating symptoms, such as chronic fatigue, joint pain and memory loss.
Kildare woman 'Mary' tested positive for Covid- 19 in early February 2021, little did she know how much her life would change.
Mary went to hospital on day nine of her isolation, her oxygen levels were struggling and the doctors made a decision to put her on ventilation, which she stayed on for nearly three weeks.
She spent five weeks in the ICU ward, one week in the dependency ward, and was able to do very little due to muscle wastage.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines long Covid as "usually 3 months from the onset of Covid-19 with symptoms that last for at least 2 months and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis."
As many as one in ten people who get the virus go on to suffer from Long Covid.
However, the symptoms and severity of the condition can vary.
However as a result of Long Covid, Mary suffers from; hair loss , no taste or smell, insomnia ,sore gums, teeth chipping, PTSD, muscle spasms, cramping, sore joints , stress and anxiety.
