Kildare Yarn Bombers Calling On Potential Participants For This Year's June Fest

Kildare Yarn Bombers /via Facebook

They're looking for new recruits.

Kildare Yarn Bombers are back, and will be yarn bombing in June.

Annie Morris is a member of the group she commented: " We're yarn bombing in Linear Park in June, and this year it's all about the animals.

"In particular I would like to yarn lots of hamsters," she said.

Annie said she would like to hang the hamsters from a tree in memory of the thousands of Hamsters that were culled in Hong Kong after testing positive for Covid-19.

This year it is supporting the KWWSPCA (Kildare & West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) so this year the project will be called ‘All Creatures Great And Small’.

The group is always looking for new members and is a space for people to both teach & learn skills.

The group is looking for teachers, community groups to participate & those with wool to donate!

Potential participants are encouraged to reach out to the Kildare Yarn Bombers Facebook page.

Over the next few weeks and months the Facebook page will post ideas and ask for help with various projects.

"Dust off that crochet hook, dig out those needles, dive into that wool stash," it says.

Annie said: "There is something for everyone - so come on board and give it a go."

Annie spoke with Ciara Noble on Tuesday's Kildare Focus:
