A traffic survey has also been sought for a road in Clane
Concerns have been raised in relation to Heavy Goods Vehicles on local roads in Clane.
It comes as a HGV recently knocked the bough off a tree in Capdoo lane, which in turn resulted in the road being blocked for over an hour.
There have also been calls for a traffic survey to be undertaken for the L10231 through Moat Commons to measure the volume, speed, and classification of vehicular traffic, with particular attention to HGVs.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Independent Councillor for the Clane-Maynooth MD Padraig McEvoy said HGVs are still using the road, despite signage restricting their entry present at both ends of the road:
"There are articulated lorries, large buses and high volumes of other traffic using it, between the Sallins roundabout out of Clane and the Millicent road."
He added that local residents have noticed an increase in the "intensity" of traffic, both in the town and outside of the town.
"Residents have found the intensity of traffic getting worse in recent times. These local roads that aren't capable of supporting large vehicles are coming under increased pressure."
Cllr McEvoy concluded that KCC have committed to a survey of traffic volumes on the road.
