The finals took place in Derry recently
Anna Doran, living in Leixlip, has been crowned All Ireland Slam Poetry Champion at an event in Derry.
Slam poetry is a form of performance poetry that combines the elements of performance, writing, competition, and audience participation.
Anna only began performing competitively this year and has gone from strength to strength locally, provincially and nationally.
She is involved with a local group called The Poetry Kiln Collective that do regular gigs and meetings at libraries and other venues around the county.
Speaking on this morning's 'Kildare Today' programme, Anna says winning the All Ireland title was a huge personal achievement for her.
