Gardaí are still questioning a man in his 40s about the death of the teenager.
Tributes have been paid to a Kildare teenager who died in an alleged hit-and-run on the R403 in Blackwood, near Robertstown.
Kedagh Moore (16) was struck by a car in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A postmortem will be carried out on the teenager's body today.
Clane United Football Club paid tribute to Kedagh, saying the club is in "shock and mourning" following death of a "terrific young man".
"Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are extended to all the Moore family as they come to terms with this shocking loss. To Kedagh’s coaches and teammates, the club stands ready to help you through your grieving," the Club said in a post online.
Kfm understands that the teenager attended Scoil Mhuire Community School in Clane.
Gardaí are still questioning a man in his 40s about the death of the teenager.
He can be held for up to 24 hours.
