Local Parents Urged To Apply For Special Education Places By October 1st

This changed timeline has been put in place to provide more time to establish special classes or extra school capacity, according to the Education Minister.

Parents seeking a place in special education for their children next year are being urged to contact the National Council.

The closing date for notification is October 1st.

The changed timeline has been put in place to provide more time to establish special classes or extra school capacity, according to the Education Minister.

Helen McEntee says the National Council for Special Education will continue to support people who come forward after the notification deadline.

Many local parents took part in a protest outside Leinster House recently because they could not access a special education class for their children, with just four additional special classes announced for Kildare this year.
