Households may soon face charges for excessive water use, eight years after legislation permitting such fees was enacted.
The Department of Housing has identified implementing these charges as a "high-level priority" and expects to finalise the details "soon."

Each household, according to the Irish Independent, will receive a free water allowance, set above the national average by Uisce Éireann.
