Investigations are ongoing at this time.
Gardaí and Customs have seized over 8 million euro of heroin at Weston Airport in Co. Dublin.
A light aircraft and a vehicle was searched and intercepted earlier today in South Dublin and Kildare.
Up to 60kg of vacuum-packed heroin, with a street value of 8 million euro was found.
Two men, aged in their 40s and 60s, have been arrested and are being detained under drugs trafficking legislation and can be questioned for up to seven days.
The light aircraft has also been seized and gardaí are now tracing its flightpath.
It is the largest seizure of heroin in Ireland this year.
