Upgrades were made to the Enfield Wastewater Treatment Plant which serves both Enfield and Johnstownbridge
Uisce Éireann has completed an €11.5 million upgrade to the Enfield Wastewater Treatment Plant, which serves both Enfield in Meath, and Johnstownbridge in Kildare.
The project expands the plant’s capacity to support 6,200 residents and ensures high-quality wastewater treatment for the growing communities.
Key upgrades include two new settlement tanks, an outfall pipe, and innovative reed beds for natural sludge treatment.
Two transfer pipelines were also installed beneath the River Blackwater, along with flood defence works to protect the site.
The plant is now operational, with an extended testing period underway.
