Incident happened at 11.20am Saturday morning
A man in his 50s is fighting for his life in hospital, following a serious assault at his home in Clane on Saturday morning.
Gardai say two men entered the man's residence in The Avenue area of Abbeylands, at approximately 11.20am.
The attackers later fled the scene on foot.
The injured man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he is currently in a critical condition.
The scene was preserved for technical examination and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Naas Gardaí are appealing for witnesses & any road users who may have camera footage of the Abbeylands area from yesterday morning, to come forward.
