A shop in Athy was robbed by a man armed with a "blunt" object last night (Tuesday) at around 9.30pm.
Gardai said he threatened workers before robbing the premises.
Speaking to Kfm, Garda Shane Smyth said it was a "traumatic" experience for staff.
The man fled the scene but was tracked down by Gardai.
