Man Released Without Charge Following Newbridge Fatal Assault

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí have released without charge a 30 year old man arrested as part of the investigation into Wednesday’s Fatal Assault in Newbridge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place today on the body of a man who was discovered with serious injuries outside a residence in the Piercetown area.

The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Naas General Hospital.

He died yesterday afternoon.

A murder inquiry's been launched and an incident room has been established at Newbridge Garda Station.
