A local councillor has praised a positive response from Kildare County Council regarding accessibility for people with disabilities in Maynooth.
She had asked for a review to be carried out on roads in the area with a view to improving accessibility for service users.
It came as a number of disability service providers had contacted her requesting to improve accessibility for those with disabilities.
Speaking to Kildare Today, Labour Councillor for Clane-Maynooth MD Angela Feeney said that an area engineer will accompany her in assessing the paths and roads near the centres:
"The area engineer is going to do some site visits with me and look at what needs to be done and we're going to action those. I've seen the state of some of the paths that are around these centres, they really do need attention just to make it safer for people."
She added that she had spoken to the Maynooth access group, as well as visiting St John of God Community Services in the area.
She described the response during the recent Clane-Maynooth MD from KCC as "very positive".
