Sinn Féin has ended months of speculation over its role in the presidential race. The party has confirmed it will support Independent candidate Catherine Connolly.
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald confirmed the decision following a meeting of the Ard Chomhairle in Dublin earlier.
The move places Sinn Féin alongside a wide left alliance that already includes Labour, the Social Democrats, the Green Party, and People Before Profit-Solidarity.
