Minister Michael Moynihan said he would work night and day to make sure his son Harry gets an ASD place
“People are entitled to their education regardless of their assessment of needs.”
Those are the words of Milltown father David Gray, who is at the centre of an ASD placement battle as he seeks a secondary school place for his son, Harry.
Speaking on Kfm earlier this week, David said he was prepared to travel to West Cork to meet Minister for Special Education and Inclusion, Michael Moynihan.
The issue was also raised in the Dáil yesterday by Sinn Féin TD Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh, who highlighted the ongoing difficulties faced by families seeking post-primary ASD places.
Speaking on Kildare Today this morning, David described the frustration of contacting several councillors and TDs, as well as leaving multiple messages with Minister Moynihan’s secretary, but receiving no response. However, after Deputy Ní Raghallaigh raised the matter in the Dáil, Minister Moynihan called the family. T
The Minister also said he would be relentless and work night and day to get a place for Harry.
