The Government said that farmers and agricultural contractors will receive fuel support payments by the end of June in the wake of the recent protests.
Agriculture Minister and Kildare South TD Martin Heydon has been speaking to Kfm news following the new fuel scheme that was announced.
The Government said that farmers and agricultural contractors will receive fuel support payments by the end of June after the Government finalised its support scheme announced in the wake of the recent protests.
Speaking on Kildare Today, he said that the current fuel crisis is one of the biggest energy shocks in modern times.
He added that the Government couldn't "shield every element of this from every member of the public", but would "obviously protect the most vulnerable".
