Man Who Claimed He Was Speeding To Reach Appointment For His Baby Found To Be A Plastic Doll
A car detected speeding on the N7 in Kildare who had alleged that they were aiming to reach an appointment for their baby, was actually a plastic doll.
They detected a car travelling at 180 km/h in a 100 km/h zone
When stopped, the driver claimed they were rushing a sick baby for medical treatment.
Gardaí quickly discovered the "baby" was in fact a baby doll.
Further checks found the vehicle had No Insurance, No NCT, No Motor Tax, and a dangerously worn tyre.
The driver was arrested, charged with Dangerous Driving, and will appear before the courts.
Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued for the other offences, and the vehicle was seized.
