Naas General Hospital has distinguished itself as the top performer in staff hand-washing compliance, achieving an impressive rate of 98.9%.
The inspections, conducted between last October and December, have revealed that some hospitals are still not meeting the 90% compliance target during various critical points in patient care.
The lowest score was recorded at St Luke’s Hospital in Rathgar, Dublin, with a compliance rate of 84.8%, followed by the Mater Hospital in Dublin at 86.7%.
Following Naas, Crumlin Children’s Hospital in Dublin recorded a compliance rate of 98.1%. Other high-performing institutions include:
South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital in Cork, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and the National Maternity Hospital, each with 97.6% compliance.
National Rehabilitation Hospital at 97.1%.
St James’s Hospital and St Columcille’s Hospital in Dublin, both at 96.7%.
Among private hospitals, The Beacon Hospital in Dublin led with 97.6%, while Mater Private in Dublin was the lowest among private facilities at 90%.
