A heavy goods vehicle with defective brakes was detected and prohibited from use during multi-agency checkpoints conducted by Naas Roads Policing Unit at Monasterevin and Clane.

Gardaí also arrested a disqualified driver who was charged with no insurance, no driving licence and failing to surrender his licence following a previous court conviction.
Three vehicles, including two goods vehicles, were found with defective tyres and were not permitted to proceed until the tyres were replaced.
In total, seventeen Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued for various other offences.
