New Search Underway In Laois In Fiona Pender Murder Inquiry

The 25-year-old was last seen in 1996.

Another search operation has started in Laois as part of investigations into the disappearance of Fiona Pender.

The 25-year-old was last seen in 1996.

Gardaí say the search has started on what's described as 'open ground' in Laois.

It will be subject to excavations as well as technical and forensic examinations.

It's the second search as part of the investigation this week - an operation in Killeigh near Tullamore concluded yesterday.

Earlier this week Gardaí officially classified the case as a murder inquiry for the first time.

Nobody has ever been charged in connection to her disappearance.

Gardaí have reissued an appeal for information to what happened Fiona, who was last seen on the 23rd of August, 1996 on Church Street in Tullamore.
