A Newbridge councillor has called for the removal of cycle lanes on the main street in the town.
It comes as a number of locals have raised the issue to him recently.
A number of other councillors have also called for action to be taken on the issue.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Independent Councillor for Kildare-Newbridge MD Tom McDonnell said that they're making the main street "too narrow".
"Since I've got elected into the council, everybody that I've spoken to has asked if there's anything that could be done about the cycle lanes, that they're making the main street too narrow and are very inconvenient."
He added that "if you're on the drivers side and you open the door, the door could be taken off the car with traffic coming down the main street".
KCC have said that a proposal is currently being prepared for cycle lanes to be provided on the north side of the main street, which will aim to replace the current cycle lanes.
