Judge Terence O’Sullivan said the experience was deeply upsetting and that Aruna is still affected.
A ten-year-old girl from Newbridge has been awarded almost €33,000 after developing post-traumatic stress from seeing her mother seriously injured.
When she was five, Aruna Amar of Morristown Grove, Cornelscourt, Newbridge saw her mother, Naranzul Batbayar, crushed between two cars at Raven’s Rest Campsite in Co. Carlow in 2021.
The court, according to the Irish Independent, heard her mother has already been compensated for her own injuries.
Judge Terence O’Sullivan said the experience was deeply upsetting and that Aruna is still affected.
The man involved, Puredavan Nanjid from Dublin, had accepted liability.
The money will be held in court until Aruna turns eighteen.
