Because the project will take place on the existing library site, Newbridge Community Library will temporarily close on Thursday 11 December at 8pm to allow for its relocation to Liffey Lodge, which will serve as its temporary home during the build.
Kildare County Council has confirmed that construction of the new Newbridge Library and Local Studies Centre will begin in 2026.
Because the project will take place on the existing library site, Newbridge Community Library will temporarily close on Thursday 11 December at 8pm to allow for its relocation to Liffey Lodge, which will serve as its temporary home during the build.
From Saturday 22 November, there will be no in-library request service in Newbridge.
Customers can continue to request items online and choose any other Kildare library as a collection point.
Membership remains valid across all branches, online services are available around the clock, and the library service no longer charges fines for late items.
Books can be returned to any library in the county.
