The location is near Maynooth Town Football Club
At the recent Clane-Maynooth MD meeting, Labour Cllr. Angela Feeney asked Kildare County Council to progress the installation of a push button pedestrian crossing on the Newtown Road.
She called for this in order to "improve safety at Maynooth Town Football Club."
In response, Kildare County Council has said that there is currently no funding allocation for the provision of new signal-controlled pedestrian crossings within the county.
KCC also said that there is an existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing point provided at this location and that If a funding source is identified the location can be assessed to determine whether push button pedestrian crossing facilities are required/warranted.
