It follows a motion brought during a recent council meeting, where a councillor asked if there was a homeless policy and where it can be found.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Sinn Féin Councillor for Newbridge/Kildare LEA Noel Connolly said that most counties don't seem to have homeless policies:
"It seems like there are few councils, if any, who have a homeless policy. That creates issues for people who need to resort to the courts to assert their rights, if denied by the council."
"They do point to different actions plans, which includes targets, but doesn't include specific 'you're entitled to x, y and z', it's something that needs more work."
