Kildare County Council's Housing Maintenance Department currently does not carry out audits on noise transfer.
There are concerns surrounding "inter-generational trauma" for people as a result of buildings in Athy not being soundproofed.
Fianna Fáil Councillor for Athy Municipal District Veralouise Behan spoke urging the council to carry out audits on structural noise transfer in council owned residential buildings in the area.
The houses not being soundproofed enough, has led to children suffering from sleep deprivation and created "inter-generational trauma".
Kildare County Council's Housing Maintenance Department currently does not carry out audits on noise transfer.
Speaking on Kildare Today this morning, Councillor Behan says "in an information era, we can't pretend not to know this".
