CCTV captured three men attempting to gain entry to a home in Ballycahane, Kilcock, on Monday between 1pm and 1.45pm.
They were disturbed and left the scene in a blue saloon, which may have been a Saab.
Between 15 and 20 minutes later, in Thomastown, Johnstownbridge, a house was burgled and ransacked.
Witnesses report a car with a similar description in the area.
