The sites are not open to developers.
Kildare County Council is offering seven serviced sites in Clogherinkoe for people looking to build their own homes.
Each site is up to 0.13 hectares in size and comes fully equipped with access roads, street lighting, mains water, and wastewater.
The initiative allows Local Authorities to sell discounted serviced sites to eligible buyers.
It aims to promote self-build home-ownership while strengthening rural communities.
The scheme is only for individuals looking to build and live in their own home - not for developers.
Each applicant can purchase only one site, and checks will be in place to ensure fairness.
The Serviced Sites are available at a purchase price of €45,000 each which is 25% below market value.
Successful applicants must provide a 10% deposit on the site within one month of being offered a site and pay the remaining balance when planning permission is granted.
Applications close on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 12 noon.
All Affordable Housing queries can be sent to affordablehousing@kildarecoco.ie.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fine Gael Cllr William Durkan said he hopes the scheme can be rolled out to other areas.
