KCC also asked to "advise on its policy regarding the installation of altars and crosses in council owned cemeteries"
There are calls, by numerous councillors, for a series of up-grades to burial ground in the Kildare Newbridge Municipal District.
4 related motions, in all, will come before the July meeting of the MD, tomorrow.
Social Democrats Cllr., Chris Pender, wants Kildare County Council to engage in works to "ensure that footpaths/walkways within all cemeteries in its charge in this municipal district, are made safe for all those visiting the cemeteries."
While Fine Gael Cllr., Peggy O'Dwyer, wants KCC to "confirm the time frame for the commencement of the upgrade of St Conleth's Cemetery carpark as we move out of restrictions?"
And party colleague, Mark Stafford, has submitted two motions.
In the first, he wants KCC to " confirm who is responsible for the maintenance and tidying of the carparks adjacent to or servicing the cemeteries in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District"
And in the second, he says Kildare County Council should "advise on its policy regarding the installation of altars and crosses in council owned cemeteries and extensions in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District"
