John Lynch was outside the proposed site this morning
John Lynch, a vocal objector to the planned Diageo brewery in Newbridge, protested outside the proposed site today with a hearse and a coffin with the word "Athy" written on it.
Mr. Lynch told Kfm that he believes the brewery should be located in Athy and if not, it would signal the death of the economy in the town.
Before Christmas, An Bord Pleanala upheld the granting of planning permission by Kildare County Council to Diageo for a state of art brewery in Littleconnell, Newbridge.
It will be a €200m carbon neutral brewery and will create up to 1,000 jobs in the construction phase.
Monday morning's 'Kildare Today' show will hear from Mr. Lynch and Minister of State, Martin Heydon.
