Speaking before the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Seán Crowe TD said: “Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and early diagnosis and treatment can improve outcomes and survival rates from this disease. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Committee welcomes this timely engagement with BreastCheck to get an update on the screening programme.
