As students weigh up their next steps, one Kildare woman has shared her own journey to reassure those who may be disappointed with their results.
More than 3,700 students across Kildare received their Leaving Certificate and Senior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programme results today, as thousands of young people across the county prepare for the next stage of their education.
The State Examinations Commission released this year's results to over 70,000 students nationwide, while the Department of Education highlighted the range of supports available to help students as they consider their options.
Whether that's higher education, apprenticeships, further education or employment.
Leaving Certificate appeal results are due to be issued on September 25th.
As students weigh up their next steps, one Kildare woman has shared her own journey to reassure those who may be disappointed with their results.
Alice Kelly, better known as From Scratch Baker, said dropping out of her first college course proved to be the turning point in her career.
After realising culinary arts wasn't the right fit, she took time to rethink her future before pursuing baking, a decision that has since seen her build a social media following of more than five million people and publish her first cookbook.
Now preparing to graduate with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management from TU Dublin, Kelly said students shouldn't panic if things don't go to plan.
She encouraged anyone feeling disappointed to remember that changing direction is always an option, saying making the wrong choice isn't the end of the road and that there are many different pathways to success.
