There's over 5,000 vacant homes across County Kildare, according to figures obtained by a social policy expert.

Rory Hearne, Assistant Professor Social Policy, Maynooth University gave a presentation of these figures following a 'Raise the Roof Campaign' meeting in Maynooth yesterday evening.
According to the figures, there's 166,000 houses are vacant across the country.
Almost a third of the dwellings, 48,387, are long term vacant and have been unused since 2016.
Some 23, 483, over half have been unused for over a decade.
