Over 7,000 Kildare people are receiving Jobseeker's Allowance and Jobseeker's Benefit.
The Dept. of Social Protection says 5,195 people in the county are in receipt of JA.
That's higher than in every surrounding county, bar Dublin.
Another 1,982 people in Kildare are being paid the Jobseeker's Benefit.
The overall figure does not include the number of people in Kildare in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
