It comes as the deadline for applications is tomorrow, Friday May 8th
Parents and guardians have been urged to complete their applications for school transport, as the deadline arrives tomorrow.
Mainstream applications are required for students who are new to the scheme, starting junior infants or first year, changing school or address.
Families who have previously applied do not need to reapply unless details have changed, but must log-in to complete payment or submit medical card details.
Late applications or payments may result in a ticket not being available, and late applicants will not be considered for the Remote Area Grant for the 2026/2027 school year.
Kfm had recently reported on issues with school transport in Maynooth, as well as other areas of the county, which included some bus drivers withdrawing their services during a school year.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Minister of State at Department of Education and Youth, and Fianna Fáil TD Michael Moynihan addressed criticism of school transport in Kildare.
"It's an enormous operation to run the school transport initiative across the country, the vast majority are contractors."
"For some reason, for health reasons, for other challenges for the contractors, they have to pull out of the service, and we're scrambling to make sure that we have the services."
