Cllr Declan Ryan (FG) has asked the council to discuss plans with the Office of Public Works (OPW) to establish a forest walk and nature trail.
In response, council officials said they have entered discussions with the OPW to create a walking route through a portion of land within the demesne.
They cautioned, however, that the preparation of such plans would be subject to the removal of laurel within the woodland to facilitate the "completion of a topographical survey and a conservation plan for the woodlands".
