Post-Covid Rent Surge: Kildare’s Rents Up 46%, With Average Now €2,003

The average rent nationwide is €1,955 euro per month, up 7.2 per cent year-on-year.

Rents across Kildare are now 46% higher than before the Covid pandemic.

Average rent in the county is now €2,003, 9.9% higher in the third quarter of 2024 than a year previously.

Rents across the country are 43% higher than before the Covid pandemic.

The latest report from Daft.ie shows a rise of almost 2 per cent between July and August this year, the 15th consecutive quarterly increase.

The average rent nationwide is €1,955 euro per month, up 7.2 per cent year-on-year.

There were just over 2 thousand 400 homes available to rent across the country at the start of this month.

Ronan Lyons authored the report and says we are seeing the rental housing market shrink and shrink.
