Plans for a new tourism development in Monasterevin have been unveiled.
West End Consulting Ltd is seeking permission to refurbish the Manley Hopkins Bar on Main Street, and construct new buildings to the rear, including a café and 14. short term tourist accommodation units
The firm also wants to change the use of Gahan's Pub to a greengrocery.
Kildare County Council is scheduled to issue a decision on November 29th.
The development description is as follows:
"for (a) demolition of the existing returns and outbuildings on the site, the change of use of existing Gahan's Pub to a Greengrocers; the refurbishment of the existing Manley Hopkins bar and refurbishment of existing first floor rooms to provide dining rooms and toilets with minor internal alterations and alterations to street elevation with new shop-fronts and signage.
