Protesters Block Roads Over €100M Citywest Hotel Asylum Seeker Plan

Dozens of motorists are currently holding a protest in and around the roads surrounding the Citywest Hotel in west Dublin.

A vehicle protest is currently disrupting traffic in west Dublin.

It's in an effort to stop the government buying the Citywest Hotel - with some protestors threatening to disrupt rush hour traffic on the N7.

Dozens of motorists are currently holding a protest in and around the roads surrounding the Citywest Hotel in west Dublin.

The organisers say their aim is to cause maximum disruption as a way to raise their concerns regarding the purchase of the hotel by the government.

The government is understood to be aiming to buy the complex for 100 million euro, in order to significantly expand accommodation for asylum seekers on the site.
