Those who missed a recent public event at Celbridge Library can now review the proposed options and submit their views via the Council’s consultation portal
Kildare County Council is inviting members of the public to have their say on plans for a new Liffey Valley Park stretching from Celbridge to Leixlip.
The Council has published emerging proposals for the park and launched an online public consultation to gather feedback on potential destinations, amenities and connections along the 6.35km route, which would run from Celbridge Bridge to St. Catherine’s Park.
Those who missed a recent public event at Celbridge Library can now review the proposed options and submit their views via the Council’s consultation portal: Liffey Valley Park Survey Submissions close at 4pm on Monday, 22 April 2025.
Kildare County Council, working with JBA Consulting, is currently carrying out a feasibility study to assess ideas for the park, with the goal of selecting a preferred design.
While the project is still in its early stages, public feedback is seen as a vital part of the process.
The vision for the park includes improving local recreational opportunities, protecting biodiversity along the River Liffey, and linking key amenities in Kildare with those in nearby parts of South Dublin and Fingal.
A previous survey carried out in December 2024 drew nearly 900 responses, highlighting strong local interest in the project.
The initiative is supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS), which aims to develop and enhance outdoor amenities that promote healthy lifestyles and support local tourism and the economy.
